Day 1: Arrival & Coastal Calm in Negombo

Welcome to Sri Lanka! Upon landing at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be met by your chauffeur-guide for a short, 20-minute drive to the vibrant coastal town of Negombo. Often referred to as “Little Rome” due to its stunning cathedrals and colonial heritage, Negombo is the ideal sanctuary to adjust to the island’s tropical pace.

Afternoon: After checking into your family-friendly hotel, take time to rejuvenate by the pool or rest after your flight. If you’re feeling active, a walk along the golden sands of Negombo Beach offers a first look at the iconic Oruwa (traditional outrigger kanus) with their billowing sails silhouetted against the Indian Ocean.
